Character and Bird by Joan Miro

the gull rides the wind,
beach waves breaking below it —
then breaking again.

high above gray clouds,
a hawk screams into the gust,
its cry hangs, untamed.

morning breaks softly;
sparrows gather on the fence,
songs escort the sun.

feathers in the dirt,
a broken wing’s useless flaps —
the wind carries on.

another poem,
about the crows and how their
flight inspires me.

Thanks for reading.
